Support everyday routines, emotional understanding and communication with this thoughtfully illustrated secondary SEND resource pack.

Designed for learners aged approximately 11–16, this collection brings together visual timetables, emotional regulation activities, resilience worksheets, fine motor practice and communication supports. Spacious pages, clear instructions and watercolour-style illustrations give the materials a calm, age-appropriate appearance.

The download includes a 28 page student pack supplied in PDF format.

Visual timetables and routines

Help learners see what is happening now, what comes next and how to ask about changes. Resources include a daily timetable, a now–next–later board, a planning activity for changes to routines, 24 illustrated timetable cards and 24 matching blank cards for personalisation.

The cards cover familiar secondary subjects, classroom activities, breaks and everyday needs.

Emotional understanding and regulation

Explore feelings vocabulary, personal body clues and possible sources of support. Learners can identify what helps them, develop a personal pause plan, use break-request cards and consider a manageable return to learning.

Activities offer opportunities to write, draw, point or talk with a trusted adult.

Learners choose what they wish to share.

Resilience and help-seeking

Encourage realistic next steps through activities on manageable goals, kinder self-talk, responding to setbacks and recognising progress.

A fictional school scenario provides a starting point for discussion, while personal reflection pages help learners identify people and practical support they can turn to.

Fine-motor and pencil activities

Provide varied opportunities for pencil and paper practice through pathways, repeating patterns, a symmetry activity and a folded bookmark.

These pages can be selected individually and adapted to the learner’s preferred tools, pace and level of support.

Communication and language support

Help learners express everyday classroom needs with 12 printable communication cards, useful phrases and supported conversation practice.

Messages include asking for more time, requesting a quieter place, asking for instructions to be repeated and explaining that something is not yet understood. A personal support plan brings together helpful routines, communication preferences and trusted people.

Flexible classroom use

Select individual pages for pastoral check-ins, tutor time, nurture provision, small-group activities or one-to-one SEND support. The pack can also provide a starting point for conversations between learners and supporting adults.

The teacher guide includes page references, practical suggestions, example responses, printing instructions and guidance on adapting activities.
