The idea is - you tell the children you have been given a recording by your friend. He was sitting on the cliff one night, when he heard a strange sound. He recorded it on his phone but can’t understand what the voice is saying.
You give out large pieces of paper to groups of 4. Ask them to listen and try and decipher the recording. They will surprise you with their ingenuity!
Then next lesson, you play a version of the recording that you have cleaned up on the computer. Is it clearer? What course of action can you take now?
