In this activity, students will examine how Alexander Dubc虓ek鈥檚 reform programme in Czechoslovakia during 1968 attempted to introduce political freedoms within the communist system, and why the Soviet Union and its allies responded with military force to crush these changes. They will analyse the causes of the Prague Spring, the content of the Action Programme, the nature of the Warsaw Pact invasion, and the long-term consequences of the Brezhnev Doctrine for Eastern Europe.

It has 10 questions for students to answer, as well as a paragraph response section for them to聽demonstrate聽their understanding of the topic.
