AN INTERACTIVE JOURNEY THROUGH THE STORY OF PASSOVER!

Are you looking for a fresh, engaging way to teach the traditions of Judaism? This Passover Pathfinder Mission turns a standard RE lesson into a logic-based adventure. Instead of just reading a textbook, your students will use their knowledge of the Seder tradition of finding the Afikomen to navigate a house map and find the hidden matzah!

The Mission:
It’s the first night of the Seder, and the leader has hidden the Afikomen (the special middle piece of matzah). Students must follow a trail of clues based on Passover traditions to move from room to room. One wrong answer means they’ve lost the trail and must re-read the facts to find their way back!

KS2 RE Curriculum Alignment
This resource is perfect for your Judaism unit, covering key concepts such as:

  • The Seder Meal: Understanding the symbolic foods (Matzah, Charoset, Bitter Herbs).
  • The Exodus Story: Recalling the 10 Plagues and the Israelites’ journey out of Egypt.
  • Rituals & Traditions: The significance of the Four Questions and the role of children in the Seder.

Literacy & Logic Skills:

  • Reading for Information: Identifying key facts within a text to solve a problem.
  • Deductive Reasoning: Using “if/then” logic to navigate a 2D map.
  • Self-Correction: The “Pathfinder” mechanic provides immediate feedback—if students end up in the wrong room, they know they need to re-think their answer!

Perfect For:

  • Year 3, 4, 5, and 6
  • Primary RE Lessons (Judaism units)
  • Cross-curricular Literacy: Reading comprehension with a purpose.
  • Early Finishers & Logic Challenges.

What’s Included:

  • House Map
  • 5 fact-based questions about Passover.
  • Teacher’s Answer Key featuring the full path breakdown and the RE facts behind each move.

Why Teachers Love It:

  • No Prep: Just print and go—perfect for a busy RE block.
  • Active Learning: Moves beyond the worksheet and gets students thinking critically.
  • Respectful & Accurate: Introduces the traditions of the Afikomen and Seder in an engaging, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive way.
