Topic: Micro and Macroeconomics The Role of Markets Resources Allocation Lesson Plan IGCSE Economics- ‘MS word doc.’
User guidelines:
1. This lesson plan covers a whole topic and can be rejigged for more than one lesson plan by
adjusting the objectives, plenary and lesson starter etc.
2. Add your school’s name, and logo on top. Add your own name, date,
class year, term and week.
Lesson Objective: are shared with the students for awareness and expectation of lesson outcome.
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to;

  • Describe microeconomics and macroeconomics and the difference between microeconomics and macroeconomics and the decision makers involved in each.
  • Describe how a market system works; including buyers, sellers, allocation of scarce resources, market equilibrium, and market disequilibrium.
    Key resources allocation decisions
  • Establishing that the economic problem creates three key questions about determining resource allocation. – What to produce, how, and for whom. -
  • Describe the price mechanism - How the price mechanism provides
    answers to these key allocation questions.
  • Answer the questions provided.
