This lesson contains:

  • A starter which builds on the previous learning, but it can be edited to suit whatever you taught last.
  • A teacher-led introduction overview of some of the features of Roman Britain and some of their achievements. This is followed by a short video to consolidate some of the achievements.
  • A main task to study the information sheets with lots of achievements of the Romans. Students use this to complete a mind map worksheet to record them under different categories. there are follow up extension activities too.
  • An opportunity to study two interpretations about the Romans’ impact and discuss the differences with the students.
  • A plenary to recap some of the main learning from the lesson.
