ALevel History Lesson for AQA: 2R: The Cold War- can also be used for other courses on Vietnam

This is Lesson 3 in Topic 4: Cooperation and Confrontation and specifically looking at the USA at war in Vietnam 1963-1973 (Eisenhower and Kennedy covered in topic 2 and 3 respectively).

This lesson follows on from my Lesson 2 source enquiry looking at Why the USA failed to win in Vietnam; however can be used as a stand alone lesson as a lot of the content from the sources in Lesson 2 is included on the slides here.

This is a 2 hour (plus homework) lesson- the homework discussion relates to a homework set in the previous lesson but again can be amended to be stand alone if you did not use this lesson!

Includes all relevant and necessary resources- powerpoint is very detailed and also includes video clips from youtube.

Enquiry focus: Why did USA fail to achieve victory in Vietnam by 1968 (this precedes lesson on Tet Offensive (lesson 4 in my unit). This links to a past paper exam Q on whether mistakes in tactics and military strategy were main reason why USA failed to win.
