This lesson contains

• Background information and a catch up from the previous lesson on the claimants to the throne.
• The problems Harold faced when he first took the throne. Students are given a table with the issue and using the info on the board, have to match the solution to the problem.
• An overview of Gate Fulford using a video. Students then stick the map of the battle into their books and answer the questions using the information sheet.
• An overview of Stamford Bridge, including a walk through with animation on the board. Students then stick this map of the battle into their books and answer the questions from the information.
• An overview as to why this may have been a positive or negative experience for Harold. Students colour-code a resource and stick in their books.
