This lesson contains:

  • An introduction to the rebellion and who Hereward was. Students learn where Ely was and how it used to look. The students then watch a video from You Tube about the rebellion.
  • An activity to study the events on an information sheet, with questions on the board that students answer in their books about the causes, events and consequences.
  • An important overview sheet that covers all the rebellions so far. Students colour-code and then they can practice an exam question (or planning one) to consolidate the main reasons why the rebellions failed.
  • An opportunity to answer an exam question at the end for the ‘one feature’ question.
