The workshop doors have jammed and Santa’s sleigh is locked inside! Teams of 2–4 work through five rooms, one for each block of the White Rose Year 6 autumn term: place value, the four operations, Fractions A, Fractions B and converting units. Each room’s four answers add up to one digit of the sleigh code, so a team only escapes if every answer is right, and a wrong digit points straight to the room with the mistake. Includes 16 slides with speaker notes, a 4-page escape booklet, Santa’s Bonus questions for early finishers, an exit ticket, an answer key with working and common slips, and a teacher guide with a run sheet. More detail: Who it’s for: Year 6 classes (ages 10–11) in the last weeks of the autumn term, once the five White Rose autumn blocks are taught. How to use it: print one escape booklet per team, set the scene with the slides and let teams work through the rooms in any order (about 7 minutes a room). Teams bring their code to you, and you tell them how many digits are right but not which ones. The answer slides then go through every room with working, and a 3-question exit ticket checks what stuck. Rooms: the Post Room (numbers to ten million, rounding, negative numbers), the Toy Factory (long multiplication, long division, order of operations, common multiples), the Wrapping Room (equivalent fractions, simplifying, adding and subtracting mixed numbers), the Gingerbread Kitchen (multiplying and dividing fractions, fractions of amounts) and the Reindeer Stables (metric units, miles and kilometres).
