This Handout contains model answers for all questions set in the Edexcel A Level Politics Paper 3a (US Politics) in 2020.

It has been written and prepared by a Politics teacher and Examiner with 30 years’ experience of teaching and marking Politics.

The Handout also provides grids for students to compare their answers with the model answers, aiding in effective revision.

Model Answers for Section A. Both “short answer” questions are covered on the limits of Congressional and Parliamentary power and the respective roles of the US President and UK Prime Minister .

Section B. A model answer is provided for the compulsory question on how united the main political parties are in the USA and UK.

Section C. Model answers are provided for all three questions on the Presidential power of persuasion, the US system of checks and balances and Presidential appointments to the Supreme Court.

This is an invaluable resource for teachers and students working towards their A Level in Politics.

**Please note that Model Answers are provided for every question for Papers 1 and 2 from 2022, 2023 and 2024 as well, as well as being available as a BUNDLE with 20% off.
