A visual, colourful and ready-to-teach English PowerPoint that takes Year 9 from reading dystopian fiction to writing it. Pupils learn the genre鈥檚 features and purpose, then study an original illustrative three-part extract written for this lesson, so no set text is needed. They analyse colour imagery, simile, repetition and sentence length, practise a Point, Evidence, Explain, Link paragraph, and learn show-don鈥檛-tell techniques for their own writing. A vocabulary bank and a misconceptions slide raise accuracy. Two interactive activities, close analysis and writing a dystopian opening, build both reading and writing skills. Non-specialist friendly and ideal as a cover lesson, with a closing slide showing how it builds towards GCSE English Language Paper 1.
