This lesson covers everything required to understand Topic 2: ‘What is law?’ at GCSE level. The following learning objectives are covered within this Power Point:

  • Identify the meaning of the term ‘law’
  • Explain the consequences of breaking the law
  • Understand the rule of law
  • Evaluate the meaning of the term ‘burden of proof’

Included in the power point is a past exam question, activities and tasks. Parts of the Power Point are designed so that some pages can be printed out and given to less-able students (e.g tables to fill in).

I have also created a homework sheet and an information sheet on the Equality Act for either/or teacher/ student.

Hope this helps.
