Forces Topic Bundle: 16 complete, no-prep PowerPoint lessons covering the whole AQA GCSE Combined Science (Trilogy) Forces topic (6.5), with exam questions, worked examples, tasks and answers 鈥 no worksheets needed.

Covers scalars and vectors, contact and non-contact forces, weight, resultant forces and free body diagrams, resolving forces, work done, elasticity and Hooke鈥檚 law, speed, velocity and acceleration, distance鈥搕ime and velocity鈥搕ime graphs, terminal velocity, Newton鈥檚 three laws, thinking and braking distances, and momentum, including the equations W = mg, W = Fs, F = ke, s = vt, a = 螖v/t, v虏 鈥 u虏 = 2as, F = ma and p = mv.

This bundle has every lesson needed for the Forces topic in AQA Combined Science (except for Required Practicals). If you teach AQA GCSE Physics, you鈥檒l also need four Physics-only lessons: Moments, Levers and Gears; Pressure in Fluids and Atmospheric Pressure; Pressure in Liquids and Upthrust; and Changes in Momentum. You can buy them separately, or get all 20 lessons in my GCSE Physics bundle: /teaching-resource/bundle-forces-topic-gcse-physics-12835829

As a Secondary Science teacher, Deputy Headteacher, writer and examiner for many years I make high quality no-prep lessons so busy teachers can teach outstanding lessons without spending hours planning. These high quality lessons include explanations, different types of in-lesson assessment (all with answers) and unique exam questions.

My lessons are ideal for non-Physicists - as a Biologist who retrained as a Physics teacher I know how to take learners on a journey that builds up their understanding step by step, while still going into a lot of depth. The preview videos show a representative sample of slides from each resource so that you get a good idea of what it includes before you buy.

Teaching Order for Combined Science

  1. Vectors, Scalars, Contact and Non-Contact Forces.
  2. Gravity, Weight and Mass
  3. Resultant Forces, Free Body Diagrams
  4. Vector Diagrams, Resolving Forces
  5. Work Done and Energy Transfer
  6. Forces and Elasticity
  7. Distance, Displacement, Speed and Velocity
  8. Distance-Time Graphs
  9. Acceleration
  10. Velocity-Time Graphs
  11. Terminal Velocity
  12. Newton鈥檚 First and Second Laws
  13. Newton鈥檚 Third Law
  14. Stopping Distance & Thinking Distance
  15. Braking Distance & Energy
  16. Momentum & Conservation of Momentum

What鈥檚 Included in each lesson:
鈥 Starter / Do Now Activity
鈥 Explanation slides in 鈥渃hunked鈥 sections with animated diagrams.
鈥 Worked examples of calculations / questions.where applicable
鈥 Multiple questions in different question styles and difficulties - no need for worksheets. Each 鈥渃hunked鈥 explanation section typically includes a set of 鈥learning check / quick questions鈥 followed by a set of in-depth questions on the learning from that 鈥渃hunk鈥 of the lesson. All questions have answers.
鈥 Exam-style questions on the whole lesson at the end of the lesson- these are unique, based on real exam questions but not just copied from exam boards.
鈥 Answers for all questions
鈥 All easily editable to adapt to your teaching or to use in existing lessons.
鈥 Slightly humorous, at points, if you like that sort of thing.

The lessons were written for AQA GCSE Science / Physics but are very likely to be applicable to other exam specifications.

Fantastic resources which both I and my students find really helpful. Attractive and well set out, with attention paid to detail, and in particular addressing in advance misconceptions that may arise. I had a technical problem with my download (due to TES platform, nothing to do with author) but he emailed me immediately and helped me solve my problem with super politeness and efficiency, thankyou

I've loved using this, brilliant resource, but had to change them to widescreen. Some errors, but only minor, such as units. Easily noitcable and fixable if you are a science teacher. Love the recap questions in the starters, revisits old topics, good for revision and preparing them for exams.
