UPDATED for the new Cambridge 2027 syllabus!

This 260-slide PowerPoint is designed to support the teaching of ‘France, 1774–1814’ for Paper 1. It has been fully updated to reflect the new syllabus, while the Paper 2 slides have also been retained for those who still wish to use them.

The presentation closely follows the Cambridge Scheme of Work, while expanding on it with a wide range of additional resources, explanations, and teaching activities.

Inside you’ll find:

  • Engaging activities for both collaborative and independent learning.
  • Regular opportunities to practise and develop Paper 1 exam skills.
  • Clear lesson structure that makes the resource easy to teach straight from the slides

References to the textbook I use (Hachette’s Modern Europe, 1774–1924) which can easily be replaced with page references from your preferred textbook.

Enjoy!

Many thanks for the update! This was a huge asset two years ago when I began teaching AS and I'll easily continue using it with my classes. Are there any plans to update the Russian Rev ppt?

Thank you for all your efforts, as a teacher new to this course this is helpful before I navigate into the new syllabus for next year. There are links to documents embedded, are you able to give us permission to download these? The current link doesn't allow this.
