This worksheet task allows students to develop their understanding of algebraic expressions.

Students will independently translate a series of phrases into formal expressions. For example, “A number is divided by 2, then 10 is subtracted becomes n/2 - 10, and vice versa. Students will also use their reasoning and problem solving skills to spot the errors in two translations and explain their reasoning.

This activity also comes with 2 additional challenges to provoke higher order reasoning and develop mathematical thinking.

This download provides both the Editable PPT Version and the PDF Version.
