Build confidence in projectile motion with 24 questions and fully worked solutions across 36 pages, from multiple-choice checks to challenging extensions.

Created by Phi Advanced STEM Studies, this collection develops the shared-time approach linking horizontal and vertical motion, then applies it to targets, obstacles and inverse problems.

Structured practice:

  • 6 multiple-choice questions.
  • 4 Foundation questions.
  • 6 Core questions.
  • 5 Advanced questions.
  • 3 clearly labelled mathematics/university-bridge Extension questions.

Many questions have multiple parts. Part I contains the questions; Part II provides detailed solutions with intermediate steps, method choices and physical reasoning. Linked contents and return links make the PDF easy to navigate.

Topics include: launch components; horizontal and angled launches; flight times, maximum heights, ranges and impact velocity; motion graphs; reconstructing a launch; unequal launch and landing heights; and testing the ideal-projectile model. Extensions explore trajectory equations, target angles, obstacles and minimum speed.

Solutions emphasise axes, a common time variable, signs, rejected negative roots and physical constraints. Multiple-choice solutions discuss distractors and misconceptions. Final answers and checks support independent study and teacher-led review.

Relevant to selected projectile-motion content in A level/International A level, IB and AP Physics 1/C. Scope varies by specification; advanced target and extension questions may exceed some courses. This is not a complete or identical syllabus match.

Mathematics: algebra, trigonometry and quadratics. The final three questions are labelled mathematics/university-bridge extensions; no calculus is required.

Included: the 36-page English-language student PDF, matching instructor question map PDF and two sample-page images. The instructor map supports planning and question selection.

The separate guided notes and worked examples are not included. Editable source files and tutoring are not included. Independently produced and not endorsed by an examination board.
