This is a simple revision resource that is well pitched for lower ability students B grade or below. However, even A grade students will still find it a handy recap but it does not provide the stretch and challenge. Updated September 2025 too include pdf version for printing.

The worksheet is a gap fill activity with a series of word banks provided to enable students to complete each task. It uses a series of simple illustrations to help explain concepts. The answers to each gap fill task are provided in a separate document.

As the worksheet is 8 pages long it could be easily partitioned for students to complete either as a plenary, following each topic, or broken down into elements for classwork/homework.

Primarily designed for the OCR specification it provides vast overlap with the AQA specification.

The worksheet covers the following areas of the topic on Transport in Plants:

  1. Water Movement Between Cells
  2. The Casparian Strip
  3. Uptake of Water through the Roots
  4. Movement of Water up the Stem
  5. Movement of Water out of the Leaf
  6. Factors affecting Transpiration Rate
  7. Xerophytes
  8. Translocation
  9. Sucrose Loading in the Phloem
  10. Mass Flow Hypothesis
