Turn a hand of Spanish word cards into a sentence worth sharing. Frases en juego is an interactive, teacher-led game that gets two teams combining vocabulary, conjugating verbs and checking agreement as they compete to reach a points target.

One game, different grammar goals
Set the language challenge to match your lesson: describe a routine in the present, recount an event in the past, or express a future plan. Learners can edit verb cards into conjugated forms or multiword verb phrases, so you can reuse the game with different grammatical targets. Simply tell the class which tense or structure to practise.

How it works
Each team starts with seven cards. Students select and arrange cards to build a useful phrase or a complete sentence, adapt available forms and use jokers to supply missing language. The teacher accepts the response or gives the team another chance to correct it. The game calculates points, replenishes played cards and tracks turns. First to the chosen target wins.

Why use it in class?

  • Move from recognising vocabulary to creating original Spanish sentences.
  • Make word order, verb forms and gender/number agreement part of a shared challenge.
  • Encourage discussion: teams decide which cards to play and how to make their sentence work.
  • Adjust the support: Easy starts with two jokers per team, Medium with one and Hard with none.
  • Choose phrase-building for shorter language production or Sentence mode for fuller responses.
  • Reward an ambitious play: an accepted sentence using all seven cards earns 250 points in total.
