Lee & Poppy: My Day and Me is a friendly, accessible resource designed for SEND teachers and pupils to support early literacy, communication, sequencing, handwriting and personal development through familiar everyday experiences.

Pupils first meet Lee and his best friend Poppy and learn simple facts about them, including their ages, interests and friendship.
They then explore Lee and Poppy’s daily routines through sets of eight colour pictures, with matching black-and-white versions for colouring and additional visual support.

The “Day in the Life” activities pair each picture with a short, easy-to-read sentence, such as Lee plays at the park, which pupils can read, copy or trace. These also are in colour and in black and white.

Personalised “All About Me” activities encourage children to draw themselves and complete simple prompts including My name is… and My best friend is….

The final pink and blue “A Day in the Life of…” writing templates give pupils an opportunity to draw and write about their own day and identify their favourite part.

The resource can be adapted to different levels of need and used for individual work, small-group teaching, literacy interventions, communication activities, displays, duplicated cards for matching, or independent learning.
Also suitable for EYFS and KS1 children.
