MRS GREN worksheet covering the seven life processes for KS3 Biology — a complete, no-preparation 100-mark resource on Movement, Respiration, Sensitivity, Growth, Reproduction, Excretion and Nutrition, free to download and ready for lessons, homework or revision with students aged 11–14.

This MRS GREN worksheet is structured across three sections of progressive difficulty, so it works for mixed-ability KS3 Biology classes:

Section 1 (30 marks) – Knowledge recall: multiple choice questions, a true/false table tackling common misconceptions about respiration and movement, and a full MRS GREN definitions table with examples.

Section 2 (40 marks) – Understanding and application: explaining respiration versus breathing, analysing how the Venus flytrap shows several life processes, exploring life cycles through frog development, comparing nutrition in different organisms, and distinguishing “dead” from “never been alive” using real-world examples.

Section 3 (30 marks) – Extended challenge: explaining why an acorn is alive even though it isn’t carrying out all seven processes, designing a test to decide whether a mysterious object from another planet is living, and clarifying the link between photosynthesis and respiration in plants.

A full answer key with detailed marking guidance is included, so it’s genuinely no-prep — print and teach, or set as homework.

Want to go further? A companion MRS GREN extension pack with four enrichment activities is available, or get everything and save with the complete MRS GREN lesson bundle — both in the iNewittAll TES shop.

The accompanying iNewittAll YouTube video is Google Classroom ready — just copy the link straight into your Classroom assignment.
