Mini - Weekly Geography News Quiz for Schools Summer Holiday Edition

Hellooo!! I’m putting out a mini version of my term time quiz as I know that even though most UK teachers are on summer holiday that there are still people teaching around the world.

This weekly geography news quiz for students helps bring current events into the classroom in a quick and engaging way. Designed for KS3 and KS4, the quiz covers a range of topics including geography, environmental news, UK stories, science developments, and major global events. Each quiz contains a mixture of multiple-choice with map skills and global location questions to encourage students to think about where events are happening and why they matter.

The quiz is ideal for tutor time, form time, lesson starters, or end-of-week activities, and helps students build awareness of the world around them while developing their general knowledge. Topics often include natural hazards, climate and wildlife stories, major international developments, and unusual news from around the world.

Feel free to use the quiz as a short classroom activity lasting around 10–15 minutes, making it a simple way to introduce current affairs and geography into the school week.
