Lesson Overview:
★ Starter: Explore images of well‑known places and discuss what makes them easy to recognise. Introduce the term “landmark”.
★ Main: Look at photos of local landmarks and discuss what makes each one special. Model simple descriptive sentences. Pupils choose a landmark to draw and write about using the sentence starter “It is special because…”.
★ Plenary: Children share their drawings and descriptions. Class discussion reinforces key vocabulary and checks understanding of what a landmark is.
