This inquiry-based, structured, and fully scaffolded lesson prepares students for IBDP Global Politics Paper 1, Question 4, with a central focus on the core concept of legitimacy. Fully updated for 2025 and aligned with the new IBDP Global Politics syllabus, the lesson breaks down the requirements of Question 4 into accessible parts, making it suitable for all learners, including those for whom English is an additional language.

Through a sequence of tasks, students recall and apply core concepts, critically engage with exemplar responses, and use contemporary sources on the Israel–Qatar conflict to construct a structured exam-style plan. The lesson builds step by step towards exam readiness, ensuring that students practise integrating sources, applying own knowledge, and making evaluative judgements.

The resource is ready to use immediately and can be easily adapted for Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, or traditional paper-based delivery.
