This 7 lesson enquiry scheme of learning explores the history of the Middle East, with a focus on Palestine from 1948 to the modern day.

L1: students will explore the Partition Plan of 1948 and how it led to the creation of a new country.

L2: students will learn about the ‘Nakba’ (catastrophe) of 1948 and its impact.

L3: students will be able to explain the consequences of the ‘Nakba’ and how it impacted Palestine.

L4: students will be able to explain the signiifcance of the ‘6 Days War’ of 1967.

L5: students will explore the extent to which a ‘peaceful solution’ was achieved in the 1980-90’s.

L6: students will consolidate their learning by linking the events from Palestine’s history to the modern day.

L7: guidance for students to write their assessment (includes scaffolding and model answer for addressing EBIs).
