This premium GCSE Biology lesson explores one of the most challenging topics in the AQA GCSE Biology specification: The Brain.

Using engaging clinical case studies, pupils investigate how scientists have discovered the functions of different brain regions before exploring modern brain mapping techniques including MRI scanning and electrical stimulation. Throughout the lesson, pupils develop their understanding of the cerebral cortex, cerebellum and medulla, while considering why investigating and treating the brain presents significant scientific and ethical challenges.
