This lesson contains:

  • An overview of the need for a new structure to the kingdom, and then a teacher-led guide through the structure itself. Students listen as you explain the giving of land to the person below and the obligations back to the person above.
  • A video from YouTube which students use to complete a gap fill on their large worksheets. The sheets are normally printed in A3 to allow a knowledge organiser feel, to help with later revision.
  • Instruction going through each section of the system, starting with Tenants-in-Chief, where students do an activity to colour-code their roles. Then the Knights, where students answer questions about Knights Service. Then the peasants, and the students complete questions using the information, about labour service.
  • There are two plenary options; one is a key words quiz, the other is an exam practice.
