A simple, strengths-first child profile designed to help teachers, teaching assistants, SEND staff and pastoral teams understand the individual child behind the behaviour.

This one-page printable profile gives staff a clear place to record the things that genuinely help a child feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

Rather than focusing only on difficulties, the profile begins with the child鈥檚 strengths and interests before exploring:

  • what helps them feel safe and ready
  • situations that can make school harder
  • early signs of stress
  • what helps when they are struggling
  • things adults should try to avoid
  • how the child shows or asks for help
  • words and phrases that support them
  • anything important they would like adults to know
