Students examine the causes and consequences of the extermination of the buffalo between the 1840s and the 1890s in the American West.

• Slide 3-4: Buffalo Recap - Students asked to recap how the indigenous peoples used the buffalo to help them survive with a bonus challenge question. Answers provided.
• Slide 5: Background information outlining the reasons for the hunting and extermination of the buffalo.
