In this activity, students will examine the causes and consequences of the British convict transportation system, tracing how poverty and overcrowded prisons in 18th-century Britain led to the establishment of a penal colony at Sydney Cove in 1788. They will also explore the significant impact this had on the First Nations peoples of Australia, including the dispossession of their land and the disruption of their communities as European settlement expanded.

It has 9 questions for students to answer, as well as a paragraph response section for them to demonstrate their understanding of the topic.
