Self-Worth, Body Image, Confidence & Positive Self-Talk – 4 Lesson Wellbeing Unit

A complete 4-lesson student wellbeing and personal development unit exploring how young people see, value and talk to themselves.

The lessons are designed to be engaging, practical and discussion-led, using relatable scenarios, decision-making activities, reflection tasks and challenges rather than simply giving students information.

The 4 lessons:

Lesson 1 – Self-Worth
What gives us value? Students explore the difference between self-worth, achievement and other people’s opinions.

Lesson 2 – Body Image
Why do we compare ourselves to others? Students examine body image, social media, comparison, edited images and developing a healthier perspective on appearance.

Lesson 3 – Confidence
Do you need to feel confident before you act confidently? Students explore courage, avoidance, manageable challenges, mistakes and how confidence actually develops.

Lesson 4 – Positive Self-Talk
Would you speak to a friend the way you sometimes speak to yourself? Students explore the inner critic, fact vs interpretation, reframing and realistic, supportive self-talk.

Included:
4 complete PowerPoint lessons
Matching student workbook activities
Big Questions
Real Talk scenarios
Think–Pair–Share activities
Decision-making tasks
Practical student challenges
Reflection and exit tickets
Key vocabulary
Consistent visual characters and scenarios throughout
Clear links between all four lessons

The unit builds progressively:

Self-Worth → Body Image → Confidence → Positive Self-Talk

Students finish with a simple but important message:

You don’t need to be perfect to have value. You can accept who you are while still learning, growing and changing.

Suitable for PSHE, wellbeing, pastoral lessons, tutor time, personal development and SEMH provision.
