This lesson was created using the latest AQA A-Level Psychology specification (2025) although content and activities may be useful for other specifications.

The worksheet is a comprehensive revision table summarising the similarities and differences between each of the approaches. This includes:

  • Nature / Nurture
  • Idiographic /Nomothetic
  • Reducationist / Holistic
  • Free will / Determinism
  • Views of Development
  • Explanation and treatment of psychological disorders

The worksheet is A3 and includes both a student version to fill in, and a teacher version which is filled in.

Ideas for use:

  • Students fill this in as a summary at the end of the approaches unit
  • Students use as a cued recall as part of their revision
  • Print the completed sheet and cut up the boxes - students can use as an active activity by sorting the sections to the correct approach.
