A pair of carefully designed worksheets focused on the basic skill of analysing pie charts using proportional reasoning.

The resources give students plenty of repeated practice with scaling between one section of a pie chart and the whole, helping them develop confidence with scaling up and scaling down.

The two worksheets are split into:

Section → Whole – using the information from one section to find the total.
Whole → Section – using the total to find the value of one section.
All numbers have been carefully chosen so that the calculations can be completed without a calculator, keeping the focus on the method and proportional reasoning rather than difficult arithmetic.

The worksheets are particularly suited to lower-attaining classes who benefit from repetition and lots of practice with the same core skill, but can also be useful for any students who need to consolidate this area.

Included:
2 ready-to-print PDF worksheets
Editable PowerPoint version for adapting questions if required
Pre-drawn proportion tables within the question boxes to provide additional scaffolding and support
Answers provided

A simple, focused resource for building fluency and confidence with scaling in pie charts.
