An interactive quiz designed to wrap up the unit (after the exam). It could be used before hand for revision if time permits.

How I run this:
I call it baseball. I split the class into two teams. They can come up with a team name / you can assign one.
We go outside. I have 4 folders to place on the ground to act as bases, I also have a whiteboard and whiteboard pen to record points.
Each team comes up with a name. They select two ‘batters’ to stand at home base.
I call out a question. They must buzz if they know the answer.
The first to buzz gives the answer, if correct they move to first base, and their team sends in a new batter. If not, they remain on home base.
The batter cannot score a point for their team until they have made it around the diamond and back to the home base.

Types of questions included:
Easy 50/50 questions about: the novel; language features; text structures (e.g. True or False)

Medium – multiple choice questions.
• About characters, their beliefs, attitudes, possessions, motivations, the functions they serve in the plot
• About Language Features.
• About Text Structures

Hard – on your own – short answer questions
