Values and Vision

Sidcot School was founded in 1699 and is one of the oldest co-educational boarding schools in England. It has always sought to be a place where staff and students work together to create an environment in which young people are happy, learn successfully, and develop the skills and character needed to live their lives with integrity, purpose, and a willingness to make a positive difference.

Our Quaker background and heritage mean that, at the heart of everything we do, are our core values: Simplicity, Truth and Integrity, Equality, Peace, and Sustainability. Every member of our community has an important role to play in living out these values each day.

Quakers believe “in living life adventurously and letting their lives speak. In practice, that means teaching in a way that encourages individual thought, questioning and exploration.
