My role involves editing, commissioning and writing news scoops, investigations and analyses. I also manage our team of reporters, develop news strategy and oversee our coverage of MAT sector data.

Much of our news content is inspired by conversations with teachers, leaders and sector figures: I look for stories that provide timely, critical information, hold public figures to account on areas that matter to schools, and offer insight that readers won’t find elsewhere.

We’ve closely monitored Labour’s plans for schools as they’ve emerged. In doing so, we’ve delivered exclusives on big manifesto pledges, thrown fresh light on the SEND debate, delved into emerging behaviour challenges, scrutinised the schools white paper, and used data to find and tell stories - for example on teacher pay.
